Ivan Wayne Gill, 64, of Jumping Branch passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a series of heart attacks.
Born February 28, 1957 at Hinton he was the son of the late Otis Clay and Zelpha Rader Gill Holland Cooper. A former employee of Meadows Furniture Company, Briers Furniture Company and later as a self employed carpet and linoleum installer. Ivan had a reputation as a professional car trader and was affectionately known to family and friends as “Jivan Ivan”. He loved spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by two sons, Ivan Wayne Gill Jr. and Stephen Brian Adkins; four grandsons, Brian Adkins and Ethan and Hunter Gill and Mark Aiden Ratliff; and brother, Larry Gill.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Becky Gill; three children, Susie Bryant, Nina Richmond and husband Josh and Noah Gill; step-daughter, Angel Taylor and Partner Abby; step-son, Ronnie Taylor III; eight grandchildren, Logan, Kevin, Shawna, Dakota, Skyler, Mason, Dane and Easton; two step-grandchildren, Darien and Isaac; great granddaughter, Kim; siblings, Shirley Sampson, Patricia Ralbusky, Dinah Palmer, Steve Gill and Weldon Gill and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from Noon until service time on Friday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
