James E. ?Wootie? Beasley, 67, of Hinton, WV, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 following a short illness.
Born February 5, 1946 at Hinton, he was the son of the late Jim Beasley and Hallie Grimmett Beasley.
Wootie was a 1964 graduate of Hinton High School and later achieved his Bachelor?s Degree in Criminal Justice from Bluefield State College. He was employed as a guard at the West Virginia State Prison at Pence Springs. He was an employee of Meadows Furniture Company and Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors for many years. Wootie served as a Summers County Magistrate for 12 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, and rafting, as long as his health permitted.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his special aunt and uncle, Mildred and Milton ?Nookie? Arrington.
Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Jamie Leigh Bragg of Hinton and two grandsons, Tyler and Hunter Bragg. Also left to cherish his memory are his close friends, Drew Caldwell, Joe Garcia, and Becky Clinebell. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the many caregivers throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 5:00 P.M. ? 7:00 P.M, December 30, 2013. At Wootie?s request, following the services, his body will be cremated.
