James Goddard

March 9, 1930 — October 2, 2014

James L. "Jimmy" Goddard, 84, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Thursday October 2, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House following a long illness.
Born March 9, 1930 in Summers Co. he was the son of the late Ashby W. and Elby Daniels Goddard. A former orderly at the Hinton Hospital and stock worker for Simmons Foodland in Hinton, James enjoyed farming, sewing, spending time with family and friends and attending church at The Hinton Church of Christ as long as his health permitted. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Preceded in death by his sister-in-law Marcia Wickline.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Rosalee Bryant Goddard of Hinton; one daughter, Lorene Susan Goddard of Hinton; Special Caregivers, Keith Adkins and Clifford Baker; three brothers-in-law, Wilson Bryant and wife Ilene of White Sulphur Springs, Mark Adkins and wife Arlene of Elton and Norman Adkins of Elton; sister-in-law, Hope Ames and companion Scotty Carr of Meadow Bridge and special friend, Lennie Ingram of Peterstown.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday October 7, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Minister Walter Dekle officiating. Burial will follow in the Daniels Cemetery on Williams Mountain. Friends may call from noon until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
