James Pack

James Mark Pack, 55, of Jumping Branch, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division following complications of a massive heart attack. He was born January 31, 1954 at Hinton and was a son of the late C.W. â??Charlieâ?? and Bessie Bower Pack. Jim was a lifelong resident of Summers Co., a member of the Bluestone Baptist Church and a surveyor for the past 25 years and last employed by Eastern Survey Inc. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and enjoyed helping his neighbors with any task that needed to be performed. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Samuel J. Pack and his father-in-law, Ira Patrick. Those left to cherish his memory included his loving wife of 34 years, Lou Ellen Patrick Pack at home; one sister, Sally A. Davis of Jumping Branch; one brother, John L. Pack and wife Sandra of Daniels; mother-in-law, Betty Simmons Patrick of Jumping Branch; three sisters-in-law, Karen McBride and husband Arnett of Jumping Branch, Debbie Lilly and husband Larry of Ghent and Barbara Lilly of Beaver; five nieces, Beth Davis, Terri Harvey, Sarah Fox, Ashley Lilly and Kessa Lilly; five nephews, J.T. Pack, Jonathan Lilly, Mathew and Tyler Lilly and S.J. Pack; and his special best friend from childhood, Jack Harvey. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Bluestone Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Fox and Elder Tommy Pack officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Cemetery at Jumping Branch. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors from 6-8 PM, Friday and at the church one hour prior to services. Pallbearers will be Jonathan, Mathew and Tyler Lilly, Herman Pack, Mark Ellison, Zachary Pack, Curtis Griffith and Gene Amick. Honorary pallbearers are Robbie Hedrick, Mike Bennett, Mike Cooper, James Bennett, Jay Lilly, Arnold Keaton, David Moye and Dr. Stanley T. Day. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Rashid Thomas Foundation at Thomas Memorial Hospital P.O. Box 18847 So. Charleston, WV 25309.
