James Nelson Gill, 86, of Hinton went to his heavenly home Thursday October 28, 2021 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA following a short illness.
Born May 28, 1935 in Summers County he was the son of the Pembrooke and Rachel Adkins Gill. Attended the Avis Holiness Church and the Ministry Place, served his country in the WV Army National Guard, former mechanic of the City of Hinton, worked in manufacturing for Keystone Fireworks of Maryland and he loved working on cars.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Adkins Gill; sons, Ricky Adkins and David Gill; daughters, Delsie Brown, Penny Boone, Carolyn Ann Adkins and Bertie Adkins and a stepson, Darrell Weikle.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Doris Lemon Gill of Hinton; son, Roy Adkins and wife Ruth of Hinton; daughter, Brenda Moats of VA; stepchildren, Bonnie Raines and husband Stevie, Leslie Weikle and wife Sara, David Weikle, Mitchell Weikle and Becky Lucas all of Hinton and Teresa Bryson of NC; brother, Jimmy Gill of VA; three generations of grandchildren and step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday November 3, 2021 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until service time on Wednesday at the funeral parlors.
Kevin Graham, K.J. Graham, Roy Adkins Jr., Robbie Brown, Alonzo Brown, Ray Boone and Keith Gill will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
