James Howard Rucker, 64, of Meadow Creek, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at his home following a long illness.
Born January 1, 1948, at Meadow Creek, he was a son of Margie L. Rucker of Beckley and the late James Howard Gill and.
James was a lifelong resident of Summers County and a member of Meadow Creek Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran having served in Germany and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his mother he is survived by two brothers, Eddie Rucker and wife Rachel of Beaver, WV and Darrell Rucker and wife Debra of Newark, DE and one sister, Virginia Ann Lightle of Dearborn Heights, MI..
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ray "Buck" Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton. Friends may call at the Funeral Parlors from 1:00PM until time of services Thursday.
In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to The American Cancer Society.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
