James Michael Stevens, 39, of Jumping Branch, formerly of Baltimore, MD, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at his home. Born November 26, 1968 at Baltimore, he was a son of James Stevens and Betty Clark of Baltimore MD. James Attended Southern High School at Baltimore, he was a former employee of BMT Lumber mill at Nimitz and the meat department at Save-a-Lot store at Beckley. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, watching football, nascar, golf and tennis. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ronald and Ollie Maddy, and two uncles; Bobby and Buddy Maddy. Besides his parents, he is survived by his companion of 19 years, Robin Mallon, one daughter; Christine Stevens at home, two sons; Robert Mallon and Shane Corey, one granddaughter; Alyssa Mallon, two sisters; Tammy Stevens and Danielle Clark and one brother; James Ronald Purcell all of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Elmo Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Meador Family Cemetery at Jumping Branch. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 9 A.M. until funeral time on Tuesday.
