James Roscoe Taylor, 75, of C&O Dam Road in Daniels went to his eternal rest on November 29, 2009 following a long illness.
Born November 22, 1934 at Scarbro he was the son of the late Curtis Bryon and Janet Prosser Taylor. A Retired Coal Miner and a member of the UMWA he served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. James attended Scarbro United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son James Bryon Taylor on December 8, 2001.
Survived by his wife, Linda Allen Taylor of Daniels; one son, Cameron Taylor Evansville, IN; three step-sons, Gary Cochran of Cool Ridge, Eugene Cochran and wife Angie of Jonben and Frank Cochran and wife Ada of Sullivan, MO; daughter-in-law, Gloria Taylor; one grandson, Jonathan Taylor of Evansville, IN; one granddaughter, Michelle Nottingham and husband Justin of Scott Depot; two step-grandsons, Derick and Dillon Cochran; one step-granddaughter, Amanda Cochran of Florida; one great grandson, Byron Nottingham; one brother, William C. Taylor and wife Joan of Beckley; one sister, Barbara Perkins and husband Paul of Bland, VA and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and burial will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley with Pastor Allan Copenhaver officiating. Friends are asked to gather at 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday until service time. To honor James?s wishes there will be no visitation.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
