James Willey

January 22, 1956 — May 13, 2011

On May 13th, 2011, James Earl Willey passed away after a long battle with cancer. James ?Jim? was born on Jan. 22nd, 1956 to the late Teddy K. Willey Sr. and Patricia Ann Willey of Ramp.
Jim lived most of his life in Greenbrier and Summers Counties, loved the outdoors and went to Hinton High School where he loved playing sports and the camaraderie of his classmates and many friends. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. right after High School graduation and after returning home worked for the mines, Bath County Dam Project and local saw mills while spending the happiest time of his life hunting, camping and fishing on the Greenbrier and New Rivers. Jim has spent the last months of his battle with cancer in Ramp Hollow watching and feeding the game in the woods by the creek at his mother?s home, where she nursed and took him to the many appointments with doctors. He spent hours and hours enjoying the wildlife and the creek which he loved to hear so much and many nights refused the bed for his recliner he had sitting on the porch.
Jim is survived by his son, James Earl Willey Jr. and his mother Donna Varner; One Brother, Teddy Willey Jr. and his wife Lynn; One sister, Evelyn Irene Walker and Randy Walker; Grandmother, Evelyn Hines of Rupert and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
At Jim?s request his body was cremated but a Memorial Service will be held at the Ramp Holiness Church at 4:00 P.M. Monday May 16, 2011 with Pastors Felix Baker, Lewis and Patricia Cales officiating. Family and friends will have fellowship at 3:00PM until time of services at the church.
