James Lee Williams, 80, of Beech Run died Monday, April 6, 2010 at Summers Co. ARH following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 1, 1929 in Summers Co. he was a son of the late Robert H. and Mary F. Via Williams. James lived all his life in Summers Co., a veteran of the United States Army, retired as a conductor after 40 years of service with C&O Railroad and was a member of the Beech Run Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Helen Sue Richmond Williams; four brothers, Jack, Bill, Robert Jr. and Hubert Williams and one sister, Marie Reed. James was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survived by one son, James Alan Williams and wife Carletta of Beech Run; one daughter, Rhonda Sue Patrick and husband Eugene of Bellepoint; three grandchildren, Jessica Williams of Beech Run, Dustin Scherich of Arizona and Travis Salmons of Bellepoint; several nieces and nephews. His special dog Cody will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Robbie Merritt and Rick Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens at Hinton. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral parlors.
James Alan Williams, Eugene Patrick, Travis Salmons, Ronnie Shrader, Scott Cook and Steve Duncan will serve as pallbearers.
