James W. “Jake” Taylor Sr., 73, of Jumping Branch went home to be with the Lord Friday November 15, 2019 at Princeton Community Hospital following a short illness.
Born May 3, 1946 at Hinton he was the son of the late Leonard Ray and Erma Jean Criddle Taylor. Jake was an avid farmer who owned and operated Riverside Monument Co., he was a dedicated funeral attendant and close friend of the staff of the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. Former member of the Hinton Fire Department and the Board of Directors of the Hinton Veterans Museum.
Preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Taylor, special aunt, Nell Stennett and his mother-in-law, Eva Pearl Bower.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Betty Bower Taylor; two sons, James William Taylor Jr. and wife Mary Jane of Jumping Branch and Michael Lee Taylor and wife Kristi of Jumping Branch; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Abby, Hannah, Austin, Will, Bryce and Colton; one sister, Sally Taylor Golfman and husband Randy of KY; one brother, Johnny Taylor and wife Jean of Hinton; numerous nieces and nephews and his special canine companion, Abbi.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday November 18, 2019 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Worley Family Cemetery at Jumping Branch. Friends may call from 11am until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Tyler Spicer, Will Taylor, Austin Taylor, Bryce Taylor, Colton Taylor, Kent Hellems, Thomas Sea, Zina Angell and Randy Golfman will serve as pallbearers.
