Jane Emfinger

Jane Alice Shirey Emfinger, 89, of Hinton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 24, 2012.
She was born on June 6, 1923, in Hinton, to the late Emmett and Claire Willey Shirey. Jane was a graduate of Talcott High School. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church but has been a faithful attendee of Bellepoint Baptist Church for many years.
Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Leon Eugene Emfinger. During their life together, they lived in several different states and made many lasting friendships along the way. She was a devoted wife and aunt and enjoyed spending her time tending her beautiful flowers. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
Jane was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Dwight, Richard, and Robert Shirey; four sisters, Ruth Deeds, Margaret Shirey, Willie Jo Cales, and Claire Grorud.
Jane is survived by Judy and Billy Parker, Jerry and Linda Ingram, Bob and Carolyn Deeds and Larry and Phyllis Deeds, Ed and Nancy Cales, Barry and Sharon Cales, Randy and Betty Cales, and John and Lynne Cales, Larry and Sue Shirey, Donna and Tracy Beamon, and Tracy and Gerald Lovley. Several great nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law, Charles Cales, also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastors David Board and Larry Deeds officiating. Burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors an hour prior to services. Family members will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations of sympathy may be made to the Greenbrier Valley Hospice, 540 N. Jefferson Street, Box 5, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
