Janet Gore

Janet Sue “Susie” Thompson Gore, 73, of Hinton went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ and gained her heavenly reward January 2, 2022 following a long battle with cancer.

Born October 13, 1948 at Beckley she was the daughter of the late Norris Thompson and Anna June Basham Meadows and the stepdaughter of the late Curtis Meadows.  Susie attended First Baptist Church of Hinton, 1966 graduate of Hinton High School and then went on to Beauty School in Pennsylvania until her graduation in 1967.  She was the owner and operator of the House of Hair for over 40 years until her retirement.  Susie had a passion for traveling and enjoyed crafts, painting, wreathmaking, decorating, reading her bible daily and spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 56 years, Jimmy Gore; daughter, Andi Gore Hoover and husband Tim; step grandchildren, Chase and Autumn Hoover and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Butch Honaker and Robbie Merritt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton.  Friends may call from 11:00 am until time of services on Thursday at the funeral parlors.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to First Baptist Church of Hinton.
