Janice Lee Buckland Reed, 84, of True Road, Pipestem went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 10, 2012 at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Born January 18, 1928 at Ronceverte she was a daughter of the late Lloyd H. and Rosa Meadows Buckland.
Janice was a member of the Mount Olivet Church, a homemaker and seamstress who enjoyed cooking and sewing. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife and sister.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Maynard Ray Buckland.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 66 years, James E. Reed; one daughter, Linda Hampton and husband Randy of Athens; three sons, Gary Reed of Pipestem, Danny Reed of Denver, CO, David Reed and wife Jessica of Aurora, CO; seven grandchildren, Rance Hampton, Dustin Hampton, Jason Reed, Jodie Reed, Ian Buscemi, Shelton Reed, Austin Reed; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Buckland of Hinton, Carole McCormick of Hinton and Barbara Hedrick and husband Norvin of St. Albans.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Norvin Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Family Cemetery at Madams Creek. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
