Jerry Cales

Jerry Dale Cales, 62, of Chestnut Mountain went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the Main Street Care Facility in Hinton following a long illness.
Born November 28, 1950 at Chestnut Mountain he was a son of the late Arnold and Ocie Mae Adkins Cales.
Jerry was a member of the Chestnut Mountain Church of Christ and was a groundskeeper at Pipestem State Park. He loved gardening, raising cattle and his beloved dogs (Yorkshire Terriers), watching old western movies, and spending time with family and friends. He was a fan of Hank Williams Sr.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Ferlin Cales and one sister, Ethel Nadine Cales.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years, Betty Gail Walton Cales; one son, Jerry ?Peppy? Faron Cales and wife Diana of Rainelle; one brother, Jimmy Cales and wife Phyllis of Chestnut Mountain and five sisters, Wanda Ward of Chestnut Mountain, Bonnie Rhoads and husband James of Gate City, VA, Peggy Walton of Chestnut Mountain, Decretia Cales of Chestnut Mountain and Teresa Johnson and husband Bart of Daniels.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Cales Cemetery at Chestnut Mountain with Paul Lane officiating. At his request there will be no visitation. Friends may gather at the cemetery from 12:30 until time of services at the cemetery on Monday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
