Jerry Eugene Howerton, 50, of Talcott, died Wednesday afternoon May 9, 2007 at his home following a long illness. Born September 1, 1956 at Mullens, he was a son of Goldie Haynes Howerton of Talcott and the late Ralph Howerton Sr. Disabled construction worker, he occasionally attended the Rollynsburg Baptist Church, an avid fisherman who also loved riding motorcycles. Jerry was always ready to help any of his neighbors and friends when they needed him. Preceded in death by one son, James Anthony Howerton; one sister, Donna Santiago and one niece Brenda Hufnagle. Besides his mother Jerry is survived by one son, Jerry Eugene Howerton Jr. of Lusby, MD; one granddaughter, Destiny Marie Howerton of Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Carol Huber of Nimitz, Charlene Adams of Glen Burnie, MD and Phyllis Landin and husband Ronnie of Columbia, MD; three brothers, Ralph Howerton Jr. and wife Ann of Lusby, MD, Terry Lee Howerton and wife Sherry of Hiatsville, MD and Donald Bud Howerton and wife Michelle of Sharpsburg, MD; numerous nieces and nephews and special people in his life Elaine, Nina and Ashley. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday May 12, 2007 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ron Iddings officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service on Saturday. Following the service his body will be cremated.
