Jesse H. Ward, 98, of Hinton entered into eternal rest peacefully in his sleep at home, Monday May 23, 2011 following a long illness.
Born October 1, 1912 at Glade, WV he was a son of the late James Robert and Mary Katherine Adkins Ward.
Jesse retired as a Welder and Machinist for Penn Central Railroad and had lived half of his life in Ohio and retired to West Virginia. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed cooking as long as his health permitted and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Preceding him in death include his wife, Virginia Edna Ward; six children, Travis, Beechie, Steve, Eugondia and Bradley Ward and Blondina Lamby and several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jesse R. ?Rook? Ward and Ronald L. Ward both of Hinton, Jimmie E. Ward and wife Betty of Ohio and William M. Ward and fiancé Mitzi Robbins of Hinton. Numerous Grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Minister Daniel Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
