Jewell Mae Massey, 88, of Hinton went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, August 02, 2014 in the Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
Born December 28, 1925 at Madams Creek, she was a daughter of the late Paul S. and Mae Ward Lilly.
Jewell gave her life to the Lord, August 11, 1946 and became a new person. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and former treasurer of the church as well as the Mt. Olivet Camp and faithfully attended all services while her health permitted. Jewell had lived most of her life in Summers Co.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester S. Massey in 1974; two infant daughters and a very special nephew, Robert Bower.
Those left to cherish her memory include three sisters, Pauline Lane of Madams Creek, Frances Carroll of Louisa, KY and Evangeline Keith of Princeton. Many special loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors also survive.
"Remember I love you all dearly and want to meet you in Heaven".
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton with Pastor Mark Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Family Cemetery at Madams Creek. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the funeral parlors. Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Bower, Austin Bower, Thomas Carroll, Roy and Tyler Jones, Steven Light and Frankie Lane.
