Jimmie Cales

     Jimmie Wayne Cales, 74, of Chestnut Mountain went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.

     Born April 20, 1946 at Chestnut Mountain he was a son of the late Arnold and Ocie Mae Adkins Cales.

     Jimmie was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a former employee of Bill Snow’s Roofing and a retired employee of Pipestem State Park. Jimmie was a well disciplined, hard worker. He was the primary caregiver for his wife for many years. Jimmie loved flower gardening, maintaining his yard as well as caring for the Cales Cemetery, hunting, four wheeling, the outdoors, running the country roads and listening to bluegrass music. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers and WVU Mountaineers fan.

     Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Jane Ward Cales and siblings, Wanda Ward, Jerry Cales, Ethel Cales and Ralph Cales.

     Those left to cherish his memory include, one daughter, Priscilla Cales McGraw and husband Stewart of Chestnut Mountain; one grandson, Allen McGraw of Chestnut Mountain; siblings, Bonnie Rhoads and husband James of Gate City, VA, Peggy Walton of Chestnut Mountain, Decredia Cales of Chestnut Mountain and Teresa Johnson and husband Bart of Daniels and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     A private family service will be held with Speaker Paul Lane officiating.
