Jimmy E. Ferguson, 73 of Ellison went home to be with Lord, Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Beckley Veterans Administration Medical Center following a long illness.
Born July 24, 1936 at Ellison he was the eldest son of the late Wayne Tolliver and Ruby Farley Ferguson. A veteran who served his country in the United States Army, member of the Mountain Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Dunns, Jimmy loved bluegrass-gospel music and fishing.
Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Ferguson, niece, Tanya Moody and nephew, Eric Anthony Hall.
Survived by one son, Stanley Earl Ferguson of Beaver; one daughter, Donna Hogue and husband Denon of Cleveland, NC; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; first wife, Mary Ferguson of Salisbury, NC; eight brothers and sisters, Margie Morgan and husband Fred of Daniels, Donald Ferguson and wife Juanita of Wayside, Shirley Lilly and husband Merlin of Ellison, Anna Lilly of Beckley, Janice Harvey of Midland, NC, Wanda Moody of Daniels, Thelma Breazile and husband Rodger of Bonners Ferry, ID and Roger Ferguson and wife Sue of Jumping Branch; special friend, Carol Farley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Thomas Ellison and Wayne Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Family Cemetery at Ellison. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
