Joan Krakower

Joan Patricia Krakower, 77, of Hinton passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at Main Street Care in Hinton following a long illness.
Born August 17, 1937 at Staten Island, NY she was the daughter of the late Warren E. and Margaret "Minnie" Coyne Emrich. She was a former dietician for Care Haven and Heartland of Beckley. Joan received a B.S. Degree in Nutrition from William Patterson University and a Masters of Education from Fordham Uuiversity, she enjoyed playing tennis, being outdoors, music and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Martin William Krakower; one son, Martin Warren Krakower and one granddaughter, Peyton Blue Emrich.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: one son, Michael Joseph Emrich and wife Angela of Jumping Branch; one daughter, Patricia Joan Richmond of Jumping Branch; nine grandchildren, Dillan and Gracie Emrich, Jacob and Katlyn Richmond, Nicole, A.J., Kyle, Gage and Kaleigh Krakower; two great grandchildren, Rowan and Killian Krakower; one sister, Peggy Anne Edenfield of Toms River, NJ; one daughter-in-law, Kerry Krakower of Downington, PA; special childhood friend, Ellen King of Staten Island, NY dear family friends, Janet Rush, Edgar Rush and Barbara Rush, her wonderful friends at the Hinton House Apts. and numerous cousins whom she loved dearly.
At her request her body has been cremated and there will be no visitation. Private family services will be held at a later date.
