Joan Pilkington

Joan Leith Pilkington, 78, of 1518 Summers St. went home to the with the Lord at 12:35 P.M. Tuesday June 6, 2006 at her home following a long illness. Born May 5, 1928 at Toronto, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Agnes Leith and had been a resident of Hinton since 1962. A homemaker who attended the Riverview Chapel and partnered with her husband in the ministry at the Church for 46 years, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Survived by her husband of 56 years, Harry Pilkington of Hinton, three daughters, Mary Rutherford and husband Jonathan of St. John, New Brunswick, Elizabeth Sipala and husband Mike of Chestertown, MD and Joy Williams and husband Jimmy of Hinton; one son, Stephen Pilkington of Chicago, Ill; three sisters, Jean Ramster, Gloria Prattis and Joan Willush all of Toronto, Canada; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 10, 2006 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Larry Deeds and David Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-9 P.M. on Friday at the Funeral Parlors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the individuals favorite charity.
