Joe Blankenship

Joe Michael Blankenship, 28, of 606 Greenbrier Ave., Hinton, died Thursday, August 18, 2005 in a swimming accident, in the New River at Hinton. Born November 29, 1976 in Beckley, he was a son of Joe Blankenship of Hinton and Linda Meadows Snider and husband Greg of Hedgesville, WV. Joe Michael was a 1996 graduate of Summers Co. High School, he had attended the First Baptist Church of Hinton as a youth, and was an avid sports enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Roy Meadows, his Paternal Grandmother Helen Harman Blankenship and a nephew, Joel Blankenship. Besides his parents, he is survived by one brother, Johnny Blankenship and wife Natia of Murray, KY, five sisters, Brooke Blankenship of Hedgesville, WV, Brittany Blankenship of Clear Springs, MD, Bethany Blankenship of Martinsburg, WV, Carissa and Megan Snider of Hedgesville, WV his Maternal Grandmother, Betty Criddle Meadows of Hilldale, his Paternal Grandfather, Chelsie Blankenship of Hinton, two nephews, Cordell and Carter Blankenship of Murray, KY, four aunts, his girlfriend, Megan Robbins of Talcott and his loving dogs, Mick and Marley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Hinton with Pastors Ronald Cobb and D. D. Elwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton from 6-9 P.M. Saturday and at the church one hour prior to services.
