John Henry Allen, 82, of Washington DC died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Sunrise at Fair Oaks in Fairfax, VA.
Born February 28, 1931 at Hilldale he was a son of the late Grover and India Light Allen.
John was a 1947 Graduate of Talcott High School and a Graduate of American University, Washington DC. He served on Capitol Hill in Washington DC as an administrative assistant for 42 years.
Besides his parents he was preceded in by two brothers, Grover Allen Jr. and James Allen; six sisters, Wanda Stricker, Emma Massie, Laura Conner, Barbara Stennett, Evelyn Allen and Clariece Allen.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sisters, Mary Lou Mason of Baltimore, MD and India Brown of Hinton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Reverend Melissa White officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Church Cemetery at Hilldale. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
