John Fisher

John Andrew Fisher, 84, of Raleigh, formerly of Pence Springs, died at 5:10 pm Friday May 4, 2007 at home following a long illness. Born May 15, 1922 in Summers Co. he was the son of the late William and Mary June Stuphin Fisher. John had lived most of his life at Pence Springs and had been a resident of Raleigh for the past 8 years. Member of the Glen Morgan Missionary Baptist Church. Retired employee of the CSX Corporation with 44 years of service and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed his friends and neighbors throughout his life. Preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Irene Cooper Fisher, two half brothers, Charles and John Fisher and two step great grandsons. He is survived by his wife, Mary â??Jennyâ?? Hensley Elmore Fisher at home, two daughters, Barbara Alice Arnold and husband Herman of Pence Springs and Drema Gay Fisher of Pence Springs, and one son John Wayne Fisher of War Ridge. Two step daughters, Belinda Faye Weeks of Ramseur, N.C. and Debbie Mae Cozart of Raleigh. Three Step Sons, Elmo Elmore of Lester, Robert Elmore of Raleigh and Billy Joe Elmore of Beckley. Nine Step Grandchildren and Ten Step Great Grandchildren also survive
Viewing Information: Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel from 6-8 pm Monday and one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral Information: Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at the Pence Springs Community Church with Pastors Roger Persinger and Grayson Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery.
