John Henry Shrader, 71, of Pipestem, died Sunday Morning, March 9, 2008 at his home, following a long illness. Born April 23, 1936 at Pipestem, he was the son of the late William Henry and Della Susan Meadows Shrader. He was a retired employee of Pipestem State Park and was of the Baptist Faith. John was an outdoorsman who enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and other motorized equipment. Preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances Smith Shrader, one brother, Leslie Eugene Shrader, one sister, Mary Jane Rakes and one brother-in-law, Wes Lilly. Survived by five sisters; Emma Marie Petrey of Hinton, Irene Lilly of Michigan, Betty Miller and husband Tommy of Hinton, Nancy Pettry and husband Dale of Jumping Branch and Jo Ann Pack and husband Gary of Pipestem, two step-sons; Robert â??Buddyâ?? Smith and Willard Cook both of Hinton, one brotherâ??in-law, Tommy Rakes of Hinton, several nieces and nephews and his loving and faithful Companion â??Preciousâ??. Funeral services will b e held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery on River Ridge near Pipestem. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors at Hinton from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday. Pallbearers: Arthur Freeman, Calvin and Gary Foster, Kenny Meadows, Chuckie Romanello and David Lester.
