Joseph Mazzella

Joseph Eugene Mazzella, 67, of Hinton passed away at home Wednesday, December 1, 2010.
Born July 25, 1943 at Norfolk, VA, Joey was the son of the late John and Mary Costa Mazzella. He graduated from Hinton High School in 1961, Concord College and Marshall University where he received his Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling, worked for WV Dept. of Rehabilitation as a Specialist working with deaf clients. During his career he also worked at Seneca Mental Health, Johns Hopkins Childrens Clinic and with the State of Maryland in their At Risk Youth Programs. Joey retired in 2003 and returned to Hinton. He was a Roman Catholic and was baptized and grew up attending St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hinton.
Survived by one brother, Robert Mazzella of Hinton; one son, Joseph Michael Mazzella; two special nieces, Angela Houck and husband Mark of Beckley and Antonette Mazzella of Beckley and two grand nieces, Mia and Malie Houck of Beckley.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation and private funeral services will be held with Rev. Thomas Dagle as Celebrant with Christian Burial following at the Restwood Memorial Gardens.
