Journey Ralph Chapman departed this life peacefully September 15, 2011, 11 days short of his 90th year.
Born September 26, 1921 at Talcott, he was the son of the late Robert and Alice Campbell Chapman. Journey was preceded in death by brothers, Garnett and Ancil, sisters Burl and Patty and best buddy, Russell Pierce. Left to mourn his passing include a brother, Thurby Chapman; Kenni Pierce and family of Talcott where he made his home and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins remain.
Journey served in the U.S. Army from July 1942- February 1946 as a dispatcher for the motor pool and was honorably discharged.
He spent his last years watching Major League Baseball and Judge Programs on television.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Gerry Bradford of the Second Baptist Church of Talcott 10:30AM Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel. Burial will follow in the Talcott Cemetery where graveside rites will be conducted by the military. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services at the funeral parlors. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
