Joyce M. Adkins, 62, of Hinton, died February 1, 2012 at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born December 21, 1949, at Talcott, she was a daughter of the late Charlie James Buckland and Violet Adkins Buckland of Hilldale.
Joyce was a lifelong resident of Summers County and was a member of the Rollynsburg Baptist Church at Talcott.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Angela M. Adkins.
Besides her mother she is survived by her husband, Dickie L. Adkins; one son, Anthony Adkins; four grandchildren, Anthony Adkins Jr., Andrianna Adkins, Shawn Adkins and Dakota Adkins; one great granddaughter, Aubrey Adkins, who are all of Hinton; four sisters, Cora Ann Meadows, of Elkview, Lula Ward, of Hilldale, Mary Carol Meadows, of Hinton and Ruby Gwinn, of Hinton and one brother, Tony Buckland, of VA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 04, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dana Stalnaker and Rev. Ray Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery, at Hinton. Friends may call from noon until time of services Saturday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Adkins Jr., Shawn Adkins, Dekota Adkins, Robbie Richardson, Eric Thomas and Nick DeGroff.
