Joyce Worley

Maxine Basham Worley, 72 of Shallotte NC, formally of Shady Springs, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the home of her daughter following a long illness. Born May 29, 1934 at Streeter WV she was the daughter of the late Rev. Oris V. and Hassie Hatcher Basham. Mrs. Worley was a van driver for the Raleigh County Community Action Center in Beckley. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Worley and two brothers Oran Larry and Denny Jack Basham. Joyce is survived by her daughter; Verna G. Schmitt and husband George of Shallotte NC; her stepson Lacy Worley of Gainsville VA; a stepdaughter Brenda Sue Hysell of Spotsyvania VA and their children; one sister Mrs. Janice M. Basham Voak of Ladysmith VA and a grandson Kevin C. Schmitt of Leland NC. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday Sept. 24, 2006 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor Chapel in Hinton with Rev. Tom Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz WV. Friends may call at Funeral Parlor from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday evening.
