Juanita J. Tickle

Juanita J. Tickle, 84, of Jumping Branch went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

 Born March 31, 1940 at Hix, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Macil Carter Ward. 

 Juanita was a member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Juanita was a homemaker and a former deli employee at Elliotts. She loved gardening, the beach, word search puzzles, working in her flower beds, crocheting and spending time with her family and her cat “Chip.”

 Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Tickle and siblings, Edith Watts, Dorothy Ward, Neva Ward, James Ward, Delford Ward, Clifford Ward and Alfred “Tooney” Ward.

 Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Betty Tickle Elkins and husband Steve of Beckley and Joyce Tickle Sears and husband Paul Allen of Jumping Branch; grandchildren, Keri-Nicole Eudy, Kaylee Farmer and companion Jacob Butler, Timothy, Morgan, Jacob and Kendall Sears; great grandchildren, Jacoby, Audryanna, Abryanna and Raynelyn Eudy and several special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

 Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Danny Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Friday at the funeral parlors. Pallbearers will be Paul Allen Sears, Timothy Sears, Jacob Butler, Dennis Bennett, Sidney Sweeney and Shane Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Adkins and Jacob Sears.

 In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, 456 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801 or Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.

 The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Southern West Virginia and Bowers Hospice House for all the loving care they provided.
