Junior Harlan Harrah,77, of Meadow Creek passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Huntington, West Virginia.
Born January 18, 1935 in Lockbridge he was a son of Leoda Adkins Harrah of Princeton and the late Jesse Harrah.
Junior was in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War aboard the USS Oriskany from September 1952 until December 1955. After his military service he worked for many years as the manager of Taylor Auto Paint in Pontiac, MI until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. Junior enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as gospel and country music.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Harrah.
Besides his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Nellie Harrah; one daughter, Terri Banaras of GA; one son, Dennis Harrah and (Karen) of MI; two step daughters, Aleasa Bennett and (James) of Talcott and Carmelia Toney?Hatcher and (Steve) of Crab Orchard; two step sons, Vincent Lester and (Barb) of Hinton and Aaron Lester and (Regina) of Danese; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one brother, Billy Joe Harrah and (Gail) of FL; one sister, Susie Novell and (Jerry) of Princeton; a dear Navy friend, Jimmy Griffith and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to him.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Jerry Novell officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery at Meadow Creek. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from noon until time of services on Monday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
