Kathleen “Kathy” Clark Wallace of Freeland, MD, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, after a thirty (30) year battle with brain cancer. She was 78 years old. Her life story serves as an inspiration to others fighting the fight against cancer: there is always hope.
Born March 19, 1946, in Clifton Forge, VA, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruth Gum of Hinton, WV. Kathy was a wife, a loving mother, a nurse, a gardener, and an avid reader, but her favorite role of all was “Grandma”. She was always compassionate and giving to those in need.
She is survived by her husband, John Wallace; her sister, Francis Ratliff; three children, James Wallace and his wife Kim, Jeffrey Wallace, and Jill Elkner and her husband Robert; three grandchildren, John Wallace and his wife Annie, Jamie Wallace, and Jack Elkner; one great grandchild, Chandler; and many nieces and nephews.
