Kenneth Columbus Ayers, 83, of Sandstone died Friday, November 8, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Beckley, WV.
Born June 20, 1930 at Ramp he was the son of the late Charles N. and Sallie Ayers.
He retired from Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI and was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Army, former Chief of Police for the City of Hinton, member of the Hinton Masonic Lodge AM&FM and the Ramp Holiness Church.
Preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
Survived by a son, Kenneth C. Ayers II of Cedar City, UT; one sister, Daisy Walkup of Swartz Creek, MI; two brothers, John Ayers of Grand Ledge, MI and Lloyd Gene Ayers of Beckley.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Ramp Holiness Church with the Rev. Felix Baker officiating. Burial will in Ayers Cemetery on the Ayers Farm, Ramp Road. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the Church on Monday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
