Lacy Crawford Humphries, 85, of Big Creek, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Summers Nursing & Rehab Center following a long illness.
Born May 24, 1927 at Pence Springs, she was a daughter of the late Homer R. and Lillian Martin Crawford.
Lacy was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church and loved reading her bible and attending church. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, canning and quilting.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Eva Lynn Humphries; two sisters, Louise Adkins and Viola Crawford; two brothers, Herbert Crawford and Hubert Crawford.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Howard Lee Humphries and Betty Freber Humphries of Georgia; three grandchildren, Jody Ellen Humphries, Margaret Bernice Humphries, Crystal Humphries all of Georgia, James and Michael Freber of Florida; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Crawford of Hilldale, Bobby Crawford of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Gladys Lilly of Charleston, SC and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Lynn Maddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Crawford Cemetery at Big Creek. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
