Larry Dean Cooper 52 of Sandstone passed away Friday, January 8, 2010
at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley following a long illness.
Born June 9, 1957 in Hinton son of the late James W. Jim and Billie
Mae Cales Cooper.
Larry was a disabled heavy equipment operator and spent his entire life in Sandstone. He had an enormous spark for life and a unique and undeniable
way with words. He never met a stranger. Larry also enjoyed farming and
spending time with his horses.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Barbara Neal Cooper of
Sandstone. His son, Joshua Williams of Sandstone, one grandson, Alexander
Williams Rogers of Birch River, two brothers, Darrell Cooper and wife Beverly
of Flushing, MI and James Buddy Cooper and wife B.J. of Norman, OK,
two sisters, Nancy Thomas and husband Doug of Flushing, MI and Pamela
Shuck and husband Ronnie of Beckley, one uncle, Jack Cooper and wife Joyce
of Ballangee, his mother in law, Anna Neal of Beckley, special cousin Jessie Cales
and wife Ina of Covington, VA, host of nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved
four legged family Jackson, Sammie and Sylvia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 11, 2010 at Ronald
Meadows Funeral Parlor Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Gary Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 6 to 9 PM, Sunday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude?s Children,s Hospital.
