Lawrence DeMarino

Lawrence “Papa Larry” DeMarino, 80, of Nimitz passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at his home.

Born November 16, 1940 at Hempfield Township, PA he was the son of the late Michael and Lucy DeMarino.  A member of the Jumping Branch Tabernacle he was an avid reader, loved watching westerns, hunting and fishing. Larry served his country in the United States Navy and he worked as a shoreman, managed clamhouses for commercial shellfish operations and a correctional officer for the state of Delaware until he received his medical retirement.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Joe and Mingy; two sisters, Gerri and Philly; daughter in law, Katie and a special friend, Tony Gibson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Myrtle Cox DeMarino; children, Mary Ann Cox and husband Marshall, Charles DeMarino, Mark DeMarino and wife Sherri and DeAnna DeMarino Hickman and husband Brent; step children, Margie Paschke and husband Jim and Donnie Ferguson and wife Kelly; eleven grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren; brothers, John, Ernie, Butchy, and Rocky DeMarino; sisters, Lori Breault, Dolly Sackett, Vicky Parker and Anita Ament;  special friend, Kimberly Gibson and many special nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law.

Memorial Services will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Cecil Cox officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 pm until service time on Thursday at the funeral parlors.
