Leatha Bowles

Leatha Loraine Bowles, 89, of Hix, went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2005 at the Summers Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital at Hinton. Born June 10, 1916 at Hix, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nannie Harrah Martin. Mrs. Bowles had lived most of her life at Hix and was a member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church at Hix. Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Lee Bowles, three brothers; Charles, Johnny and Leslie Martin and two sisters, Myrtle Smith and Sarah Dorothy Grimmett. Survived by two sisters, Edith Williams of Hix and Charlene Adkins of Tug Creek and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church at Hix with Pastor's Benny Allen and Derrick Leslie officiating. Burial will follow in the Oâ??Bryan Cemetery at Hix. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton from 6-9 P.M. Tuesday and at the church one hour prior to services. Her nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
