Leland ?Lee? Morris, 71, of Jumping Branch died January 11, 2011 at Charleston Area Medical Center.
Born August 25, 1939 at Brevard, NC he was a son of the late Samuel Morris and Othia Irene Woods Morris Keaton. Lee served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy retiring after 26 ½ years of service. Following his retirement he was employed by the National Security Agency. He was an avid wildlife enthusiast.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Bradley.
Survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Morris of Jumping Branch; six children, John Morris of Frostproof, FL, David Morris of Jumping Branch, Bill Morris of Denham Spring, LA, Tonya, Scottie and Michael Morris all of Jumping Branch; three grandchildren, Jacqueline, Chance and Jordan Morris; two great grandchildren, Will and Kaylee DeWitt; two brothers, Ellis Morris of Wilson Mills, NC and John Morris of Riverside, TX; one sister, Eva Morris Hall of Brevard, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Ernest Calfee officiating. Burial will follow in the Worley Family Cemetery at Streeter. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral parlors.
