Leoda Harrah, 95, of Princeton formerly of Meadow Creek entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Angel?s Touch Assisted Living in Princeton following a long illness.
Born October 22, 1918 at Royal, WV she was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Almay Stewart Adkins.
Leoda attended Hinton Church of God and Meadow Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Summers County. Leoda was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a master seamstress who enjoyed sewing, repairing jewelry and reading and studying her bible.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse H. Harrah; one daughter, Delsie Harrah; two sons, Junior H. Harrah and Gene ?Tommy? H. Harrah; a granddaughter, Billie Jo Petrey and several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include; one daughter, Verna (Susie) Novell and husband Jerry of Princeton; one son, Billy Joe Harrah and wife Gail of Florida; eight grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and step grandchildren whom she loved dearly; two daughters in law, Nellie Harrah of Danese and Georgiaetta Harrah of Meadow Creek.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Jerry Novell officiating . Burial will follow in the Claypool Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
