Leona Boone

Leona Nora Richmond Boone, 90, of Judson died 11:44 A.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 following a long illness. Born September 3, 1918 at Ramp, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Leona Nora Ward Richmond. Mrs. Boone was a homemaker and a charter member of the Tempa Baptist Church. She recently became a member of the Hinton Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her husband of 42 years W.R. â??Busterâ?? Boone and nine brothers and sisters. Survived by four daughters; Kitty Vandall of Hinton, Mary Jones and husband Frank of Willis, VA., Elsie Williams and husband Alonzo of Judson and Goldie Folds of Hinton, two sons; Willard K. Boone and wife Vivian of Forest Hill and Perry Boone and wife Linda of Judson; one brother; Hobert Richmond and wife Bernice of Stokesdale, NC, two sisters; Gloria Kelly of Sparta, NC and Lucy Thomas of Judson; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with John McCain, minister. Burial will follow in the Tempa Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday at the Funeral Parlors. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
