Leonard Basil Sparks, age 82, passed away October 17, 2015 at his home in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was born March 21, 1933 in White Sulphur Springs, WV; son of Robert A. and Annie Angle Sparks. Leonard came to Port St. Lucie in 1998 from English, WV. He was a retired Coal miner and served in the Korean War in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ollie Kathryn Hill Sparks and children; Donna Kelley, Tammy Jones, Teresa Danieley, Deborah Kirk, Leonard Sparks Jr., Sherry Sparks, 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; brother Jerry Sparks; sisters Helen Collins, Charlotte Jeffries and Janet DeRoberts.
He is preceded in death by sons; Joseph and Jonathan Sparks; brothers Steve Sparks, Ernest Sparks; sisters Elizabeth Hoff, Maureen Jackson and Jedy Balint.
Friends may call the Princeton Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church from 7:00- 9:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Princeton Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Bluefield, VA.
