Leslie Harvey

Leslie Harold Harvey, 91, of Nimitz, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Harmony House Care Home at Lerona, following a short illness. Born February 17, 1917 at Streeter, he was the son of the late Eugene Livingston and Minora Alice Lilly Harvey. Harold had live all his life in Summers Co., he was retired from the Kroger Co. after 26 years of service, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Little Bluestone Primitive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Rita Harvey January 20, 2008, two sisters, Evelyn Harvey and Pearl Pyatt and three brothers; Golden, Garnet and Ray Harvey. Survived by one son, John L. Harvey and wife Libby of Alderson, one brother; Bernard Harvey and wife Elva of Shady Spring, three grandchildren; Dawn Surbaugh, Jonathan Harvey and Rachel Ballard, three great grandchildren; Brittany Drake, Haley Surbaugh and Cacie Surbaugh and a host of other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Elders Tom Pack and David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from noon until funeral time on Tuesday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
