Lloyd Garland Ward, 82, of Hilldale went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the VA Medical Center following a long illness.
Born August 31, 1931 at Barksdale he was a son of the late Enny S. and Beatrice Meadows Ward.
Mr. Ward was a member of the Rollynsburg Baptist Church, a retired welder for CSX Railroad and a United States Army and WV National Guard veteran.
He is preceded in death by one son, Phillip Ward 1991; one sister, Genevieve Adkins 1982; and one brother, Summers Ward in 1961.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Lisa Ward of Hilldale; one grandson, Derek Lehew of Hilldale and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Dana Stalnaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 11:00 A.M. Wednesday until time of services. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
