Lola Madge ?Tonkie? Yancey, 74, of Madam?s Creek, Hinton, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at the Summers Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital at Hinton following a short illness.Born July 18, 1930 in Summers Co., she was the daughter of the late Oscar B. and Martha A. Smith Yancey.She was a lifelong resident of Summers Co., and was a member of the Martha Chapel United Methodist Church on Madam?s Creek.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Harold Yancey.Survived by six sisters; Helen McEvoy of Corte Madera, CA, Vera Y. Johnson of Hilldale, Wilma Surber and husband Francis of Harrisonburg, VA, Elizabeth ?Betty? Schroeder and special friend Frank Grinstead of Hinton, Janet Lilly and husband Damon of Pipestem and Nancy Britt of Eagle Rock, VA and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Pat Mick and Sam Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Gardens at Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlor from 6-8 P.M. Thursday. Her nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
