Lorena Ward

Lorena Buckland Ward, 99, of Hinton past away June 26, 2009 at the Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness. Born December 8, 1909 at Ramp, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie H. and Mary Kessler Richmond. Lorena was a faithful member of the Ramp Holiness Church as long as her health permitted and was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Summers County. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her first husband; Herbert W. Buckland in 1935 and her second husband James Franklin Ward in 1981. Five brothers; Ricardo Richmond, Rev. Paul Richmond, Omar Richmond, Carson Richmond and Ira Fox and two sisters; Etta Skaggs and Ina Bess. Survived by four sons Walton Buckland of Indianapolis, IN, Keith Buckland and wife Patty of Deland, FL, Curtis Ward and wife Barbara of Greenwood IN and Kenneth Ward and wife Susie of Somerset PA.; 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Two Brothers Norman Richmond of Ramp and Calvin Richmond of Indianapolis, IN. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday June 30, 2009 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor Chapel with Pastor Felix Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Knob Church Cemetery. Friends May call at the funeral parlor from 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday. Family and friends will serve as pallbears.
