Louise C. Dillon, 97, of Fredericksburg, VA formerly of Marie, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Heritage Hall Health Care Center following a long illness.
Born December 6, 1914 at Bramwell, she was the daughter of the late William C. Cowan and Ethel M. Cowan Bowden. Louise was a loving Mother who loved to cook and provide for her family. She worked on the family?s farm in West Virginia, carried the mail with her husband Wallace for over 50 years, worked at the Hinton Hospital and was a cook at the Hinton Dairy Queen. Louise was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church at Marie and the Marie Friendship Club.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace B. Dillon; two sons, Alfred ?Buck? Dillon and Jack T. Dillon; one brother, three sisters and one grandson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jerry D. Dillon and wife Marie of Fredericksburg, VA; two daughter-in-laws, Lucille Dillon of Manassas, VA and Mary Dillon of Fuquay-Varina, NC; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the New Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Sam Haught officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery at Marie. Friends may call at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton from 5-7 p.m. on Monday and at the church one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
David Dillon, Michael Dillon, Joe Partain, Cory Partain, Kyle Dillon and Chet Edwards will serve as pallbearers.
