Lucinda Lou Ayres of Hinton West Virginia began her life’s novel on October 17, 1945, and completed it on April 1, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
Lucinda was a 1963 graduate of Hinton High School. She achieved her Bachelor of Science in Travel Industry Management and Bachelor of Library and Information Science from Concord College in 1992. She put her degree to use by teaching Library Science at the Alderson Federal Prison Camp for over 20 years. Lucinda enjoyed her time as an actress for Eco Theater where she received many accolades and awards for her performances.
She leaves her legacy, honor, and privilege to carry on her life’s story to her children: Jeffrey Scott Davis of Hinton. Katrina Davis Crook & husband Douglas of Jumping Branch. Anthony “Tony” Davis of Augusta County Virginia. Christina McDaniel of Hinton.
Along with her favorite chapters of her story are her grandchildren: Justin & Tara Davis of Beckley West Virginia. Brittany & Kenny Phillips of Hinton.
In addition, her great grandchildren: Drake, Myranda, Maddison, Brooke, Braelyn, & Everleigh Davis. Ethan and Jenna Phillips.
She is survived by her sister Patricia Worles of Hinton, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as extended family, and her special angels Nancy Jane Mann and Mary Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl McDaniel. Her parents Edward & Inez Ayres, her sister and her husband Judy and Leo Arthur, her brother and his wife Tom and Karen Ayres, their son Michael Shane. Her brother-in-law Jimmy Worles. She has also lost two beautiful daughters-in-law, Donna Pack Davis and Sue Hawkins Davis.
As per her request for the conclusion of her life, there will be no services. If you wish to make an expression of sympathy, please read a child a book or plant a tree or flowers, so that life and learning can continue to grow.
