Lydia Lynn Oxley Bales, 53, of Hinton went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at her home following a short illness.
Born November 4, 1961 at Hinton she was a daughter of Stuart and Lila Oxley of Hinton.
Lydia was a 1980 graduate of Hinton High School and had attended Beckley College. She had worked as a Clerk for the Department of Motor Vehicles and as a Secretary for the Department of Health and Human Resources in Hinton. Lydia attended Riverview Chapel in Hinton. She enjoyed yard sales, wrestling, animals, caring for others, spending time with family and friends and spoiling her granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Elsie Lemon and paternal grandparents, Charlie and Naomi Oxley of Athens.
Besides her parents those left to cherish her memory include her companion, James Adkins; one son, Charlie Bales and wife Abby of Princeton; one granddaughter, Emily Grace Bales of Princeton; four siblings, Curtis Shaver and wife Janie of Jumping Branch, Gaye Shaver of Hinton, Kendra Oxley of Hinton and "Tommy" Oxley of Hinton and four nieces and nephews, Jaime Shaver Ward and husband Nicholas of Jumping Branch, Heather Shaver Carter and husband Tommy of Beckley, James Zimmerman of Hinton, and Charles Oxley III of Huntington.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 16, 2015 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Scott Ross and Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery at Hix. Friends may call from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
