Madlean Adkins

Madlean T. Adkins, 83, of Hinton, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Summers Co. Appalachian Regional Hospital, following a long illness. Born August 4, 1923 at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Burman and Emma Jane Bennett Adkins. Madlean was a very loving Mother, a lifelong resident of Hinton and attended the Freedom Baptist Church on Powleys Creek. Preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Bennett and a loving sister, Patsy Gill. Survived by three daughters; Helen Sears and husband Leonard of Hinton, Mildred Lilly and husband Bobby of Madamâ??s Creek, Hinton and Drema Adkins of Hinton; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters; Mojean Fox of Tug Creek and Gladys Upton of Hinton, two brothers; Jackie (Curtis) Adkins and Benjamin Adkins both of Hinton and several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
